About the Picture
This painting was an initial study (although quite large) for a larger painting (The Town Fell Asleep (number 2)) which now
hangs in the foyer to the Church Street Doctor's practice in Tewksbury. The exercise was simple, to blend night and colour
in a magical way. The grid of squares each carrying its own exploration of pattern; hopefully hanging together as a midnight
tapestry. Somewhere in the back of my mind was an image of a quiet eastern European city, perhaps Prague, perhaps Warsaw.
