About the Picture
The proud lion prowls on the tail of a scavenging hyena; which is the better? In the garden of innocence we hunt down our
failings. We laugh at the weak, those unable to defend themselves; we make ourselves strong through our mean humour and persistent
put-downs. And when we turn upon ourselves, with pride and condemn our lowest behaviour, we do not rise up in moral splendour;
we spook those ideals, like birds set to flight.
