About the Picture

Misanthropy sends the hardiest of individuals into the wilderness. Without friends life is simpler. The landscape changes from the realm of control to the source of inspiration; of food without end; of security. But where has happiness gone; colours fade; the happy beast is lost without the concept of hate; righteous criticism turns in upon itself. All cold-blooded creatures, the lizards and cheats die under these conditions. This is the life of the hermit. A dream and curse in equal measure.
